PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE: Brothers & Sisters:
I am enormously proud to inform you that Memorial Lodge 100’s 18th Annual Awards Dinner is in the books. I would like to thank the Lodge Board members who were integral in ensuring the success of the event and all the attendees. Teamwork was instrumental in making this night go off without a hitch. We were so happy to have an opportunity to acknowledge and honor the Tunnel to Towers Foundation, Detective 1st Grade Louis Alvarez, and our “Member of the Year” James Scarry. The Dinner was filled with supporting organizations, agencies, lodge members and non-lodge members from around the tri state area.
The appreciative and touching words from our honorees and the comments from many of the Line-of- Duty families that were in the room left me humbled, emotionally touched and at a complete loss for words.
As a result of so many people’s generosity, along with the direct donations of Lodge members, non-Lodge members and anonymous donors, Memorial Lodge 100 was able to present a check for $7,125 dollars to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation to help them to continue in providing so much to so many.
Please join me in congratulating our raffle winners.
John Unger 1st prize
Kevin Quirk 2nd prize
Kim Giambrono 3rd prize
Unfortunately, the war on Law Enforcement rages on. I am disgusted at how Law Enforcement is being blamed for the skyrocketing crime. Please read the letter from Lou Turco, Lodge 100 member and President of the NYPD LBA, located further on in this newsletter: Letter Reprinted with the permission of Lou and the LBA Board.
In closing, I hope to see you at a future meeting. If you cannot make a meeting, feel free to contact the Lodge for any constructive criticism, as to how we can do better. If you like what you see, bring in a new member. Organizations survive and thrive on new blood. Lodge 100 has members in over 40 states. For those outside of New York State, feel free to bring in new members. The Fraternal Order of Police is a national organization. For those that have not renewed for 2022 there is still time.
As always, remember our brothers and sisters protecting our streets at home and those serving in the armed services. Pray for the recovery of those who are suffering illness and “Never Forget the Fallen, Honor Their Memory” and their surviving families.
Be Well & Stay Safe
Fraternally,
Rich Clifford
